The Unique Wiring Journey

Therapy & Counselling in Accrington, Blackpool & Lancashire

Why We Started Unique Wiring Counselling

At Unique Wiring Counselling, we believe that no two minds work in exactly the same way and therapy should always reflect that uniqueness. Our practice grew from a simple but powerful belief: mental health support should meet people where they are, rather than trying to fit them into a one-size-fits-all model.

As sisters, co-founders, and therapists, we’ve witnessed firsthand how every journey is different. Our own experiences, from parenting and caregiving to living with long-term health issues and neurodivergence, have profoundly shaped who we are and how we work. We also understand what it feels like to be unheard, unseen, or misunderstood.
That’s why we founded Unique Wiring Counselling in Lancashire to create a space for inclusive, practical, and compassionate support. Here, we take the time to understand each individual’s unique wiring and work alongside them to build a personalised therapy journey that feels authentic, empowering, and genuinely tailored.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do: inclusivity, accessibility, and respect for lived experience. We are committed to offering therapy that not only recognises difference, but celebrates it – because Your Brain, Your Story, and Your Journey deserve to be understood on your own terms.

Meet the Co-Founders

Lesley
CBT Therapist EMDR & EFT Practitioner

As a qualified CBT therapist, I specialise in helping people process difficult emotions, overcome obstacles, and develop healthier coping strategies. My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and supported by specialist training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). This combination enables me to integrate practical tools with deeper emotional processing, allowing clients to experience both immediate relief and long-term growth.

My goal is to support individuals in creating meaningful and lasting change, enabling them to live with greater balance, resilience, and confidence. Living with dyslexia and a long-term health condition, while caring for loved ones with disabilities, has shaped the way I connect with others. These experiences have deepened my empathy and inspired me to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel truly supported.

Leann
Integrative Counsellor & EFT Practitioner

As a qualified integrative counsellor, I adapt therapy to each client’s unique needs, drawing on a range of approaches to provide a flexible and supportive space. My professional development continues through my BA (Hons) in Counselling, where I am strengthening my knowledge and practice. I have also undertaken specialist training in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and trauma-focused therapy, which enables me to work creatively and sensitively with clients, particularly around trauma and emotional wellbeing.

I aim to help people feel safe, understood, and supported as they explore their challenges and move forward in life. Alongside my training, I bring lived experience as someone who is dyslexic, a single parent, and an unpaid carer for family members with health conditions and disabilities. These experiences have strengthened my compassion, resilience, and authenticity, allowing me to build genuine connections with the people I work with.
